Organic gardening is the process of growing your own food without chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. In addition to producing your own fresh vegetables and fruits, it can help preserve soil health and improve water quality.
Modern vegetable gardens also often contain trees and other habitats that benefit wildlife. These include ponds, marshland and woodpiles.
Rockport Garden Club welcomes gardener and teacher, Wendy Reinemann, for a presentation on how to bring a bit of spring inside by creating container arrangements.
Wendy and her husband, Bruce, own Guini Ridge Farm, a nursery that has been serving the Midcoast community since 2001. Guini Ridge Farm offers a range of locally grown annuals and perennials, vegetable plants, herbs, plants, shrubs, trees, roses, cut flower varieties, and ornamental grasses.
