The talk was given by Sheena Crossley on March 27.
She provided expert advice on cultivating crops not for size, but for the dining table.
Tips on soil preparation, avoiding obstacles from seed to harvest, as well as the variety of vegetables one can grow, were part of her presentation.
Ms Crossley concluded her talk with a visual presentation of herbs and vegetables that local gardeners could nurture given the right weather conditions.
The Sully and District Gardening Society will hold its next gathering on April 24 at 7.30pm.
Gardening aficionado Aisling Judge will discuss ‘No Dig Gardening’. The society’s base is at The Old School, South Road in Sully, alongside the Church of St. John the Baptist.
Individual and couples membership is available for an annual fee, which includes access to monthly raffles and a summer garden trip.
The society extends an invitation for anyone interested in horticulture, regardless of their gardening space constraints.
